One of the most common injuries in the wilderness are skin-related. Wounds are not only prevalent in this environment, they can also be difficult to manage without the appropriate resources. In this module, you will learn to identify and classify wounds through thorough examination, describe the actions required for hemostasis, and discuss methods of wound management, including infection, closure, and evacuation.
The purpose of this module is to help you develop a process that will allow you to overcome obstacles and provide the patient(s) with the appropriate care.
Upon completion, students should be familiar with:
