Prevention and Management of Lower Extremity Injuries

For:

This online module is designed for medical professionals of all levels seeking continuing education credits, those seeking Wilderness Medical Society FAWM credit, or for anyone interested in learning more about this topic.

Course Description:

A variety of outdoor sports emphasize use of the lower extremities such as hiking, trail running, and backpacking. These all carry an inherent risk of injury to both the knees and ankles. In this module, you will learn to prevent and manage common lower extremity injuries.

Objectives:

After viewing a specific learning module from the WLS:MP Online Lecture Library, participants in the AdventureMed Online Lecture CME Program should be able to demonstrate an increase in, or affirmation of, their knowledge of wilderness medicine. Participants should be able to evaluate the appropriateness of the information as it applies to the provision of patient care or counseling.

Online Learning:

AdventureMed offers a unique online learning experience through our innovative learning platform. Instead of reading a textbook, our online modules are designed to learn alongside the user, providing feedback, testing comprehension, and increasing long term retention. In addition to this platform, supplemental material, such as readings and podcasts, are provided to elevate learner experience.
