AdventureMed is committed to providing access to the latest developments in wilderness medicine.
While this course is an opportunity to select and approve those capable of joining our instructor team, we are also looking to provide an environment in which potential instructors can improve their skills.
This program is appropriate for medical professionals who have a passion for the wilderness and for teaching. Instructors are expected to deliver high-quality, in-depth lectures on medical topics and oversee hands-on practical skills sessions. In addition, instructors are expected to manage course gear, communicate effectively with our administrative team, clients, and students, and uphold AdventureMed’s practices and standards.
The instructor training course is 40 hours. It includes but is not limited to, wilderness medicine topics, teaching methodologies, group dynamics, practical skills, and AdventureMed’s approach to wilderness medicine.
Upon course completion, students may be offered the opportunity to become an AdventureMed instructor for Wilderness First Aid (WFA) and Wilderness First Responder (WFR) courses.
This course will be hosted in Salt Lake City, Utah.
